Mariel Reyes: I empower Black & LGTBI women through IT

October 26 @ 3:00 PM - 4:00 PM

Mother of three, and CEO and Founder of {reprograma}, Mariel Reyes Milk is a social entrepreneur who works to bring more diversity to Brazil’s IT area. Founded in 2016, the non-profit’s mission is to bridge the gender gap and bring more diversity to Brazil’s technology sector through education, with a focus on women and girls in vulnerable situations – especially black and transgender women.

Before becoming a social entrepreneur, Mariel worked at the World Bank Group’s International Finance Corporation for 10 years, on social and environmental development projects in Latin America and Asia. She is Peruvian-American and has a BSc in Economics from Santa Clara University, and an MSc in Environment and Development from the London School of Economics and Political Science.

Mariel will tell us about her dedication to building a more diverse and inclusive world.
